Inspire Loving Kindness Every Day in Every Way
At the Soul Center for Spiritual Awakening, we believe that all humans have a need for contribution and to genuinely make a difference in this world — even if simply through the lasting impact of a kind smile or a gentle hug. Through seva, the spiritual practice of selfless service or volunteering, every individual can find an opportunity to help one another in significant ways.
The Soul Center Community Outreach Program is designed to inspire more metta in the world, also known as "loving-kindness." As taught by the Buddha, loving-kindness promotes friendliness, eliminates ill-will, and cultivates joy. Through the act of service, volunteers and recipients can experience one of the most profound and accessible ways to cultivate joy. The Soul Center Foundation also provides financial assistance to those in need to attend spiritual workshops and programs hosted at our facility.
Our Program provides free yoga class, guided meditations, and energy healing services to under-served populations by pairing certified yoga teachers and holistic practitioners with nonprofit organizations in our local community. Designed to inspire healthier living in body, mind, and spirit for every Soul — regardless of gender, age, socio-economic income level, or place in life — our Program also encourages individuals to participate as Soul Friends within the community in any number of ways.
Volunteers have the power to uplift self, community, and the larger world around us. When our actions are inspired by sweet intention without an expectation of anything in return, we learn that living well becomes less focused on our own immediate needs and instead, consider how we can be of service to those genuinely in need. We invite everyone to practice seva and metta in every moment of every day.
