Online Zoom class with Durga Leela

Explore the nature of the mind using the imagery of a lake—clear and still when balanced, agitated when disturbed by projection or emotion, and muddy when overwhelmed by confusion or inertia.

As we become more aware of the different perceptual states we experience, the teachings of Ayurveda and Yoga offer practical tools to understand and work with the mind in daily life. These traditions describe the mind through the lens of the three Mahagunas: Sattva (clarity), Rajas (activity), and Tamas (inertia). By learning to witness these states with calm awareness, we begin to understand that we are not defined by them—and that with consistent practice, we can shift the mind toward steadiness and ease.
