Feel the magic of Kirtan—joyful hearts, mindful souls, and a deeper connection to the divine. Join us in the celebration of Shivaratri!
This year Shivaratri (the great night of Shiva) is celebrated on Feb 15th, so we are kicking off the celebrations early at Kirtan Club on the 7th! All over the world, bhakti yogis and devotees will celebrate, chant, meditate and pray together.
Shivaratri is celebrated to honor divine consciousness and transformation. Shivaratri symbolizes overcoming darkness and ignorance, offering spiritual awakening, purification, and a chance to experience inner vastness through spiritual practices like kirtan, mantras and ceremonies. Maha Shivaratri, “The Great Night of Shiva,” celebrates Lord Shiva and his divine attributes, marking significant events like his wedding to Goddess Parvati, his cosmic dance (Tandava), and the night he drank poison to save the world.
This month we welcome back Brent and Ari! Come chant with us!
Kirtan fills our hearts with joy, enhances mindfulness, elevates our mood, and connects us with spirituality. Together we build a vibrant community of love and unity, spreading positivity one chant at a time. All are welcome, and no experience of any kind is needed.
Join Merry and friends monthly at Kirtan Club (the 1st Sat. of each month) in the exploration and passionate practice of chanting the Divine Names from the Bhakti Tradition. Kirtan is a form of interactive musical mantra meditation. Merry started Kirtan Club in 2018 and has nurtured Encinitas’s kirtan community ever since!
Please arrive 10 mins early. Prasad (blessed sweets) provided after kirtan.

About the Facilitator:
Merry has been practicing yoga since moving to California from the East Coast in 2003. What began as a way to support her marathon running grew into a deep appreciation for yogic practices and philosophy. She is highly trained and certified as a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist, E-RYT 500 teacher, and YACEP education provider.
“Yoga has expanded my awareness; I live from a more heart-centered place than ever before. It is an incredible honor to share it.”
Of the many yogic paths, she feels most connected to Bhakti Yoga (the yoga of devotion) —leading Kirtan, training others, and founding The Soul of Yoga’s monthly Kirtan Club in 2018. Join her the 1st Saturday of each month!
She is also a Direct Divine Light Healer, Reiki Master Teacher, Certified Metaphysician, and a gifted Sound Healer, offering a compassionate space for students to explore the connection of mind, body, and spirit.
