When Life Asks, “Is This Real?” Jyotish Astrology July 2026

There are seasons when life brings us to thresholds of change. This might just come from the feeling inside that the old way of moving can no longer carry us forward. The convenient shortcuts stop working while the distractions become more exhausting. We may notice relationships built on one-sided giving, hidden motives, or fear begin to feel different in the body. The work we do, how we earn, the way we speak, how we connect with others, and even where we belong all can come under review.

The question underneath it all is both rich and simple:

Are we chasing something real, or are we chasing an illusion?

This question can arise in many from any area, or multiple areas of life. places. Perhaps through finances, career, health, relationships, community, leadership, spiritual practice, or our relationship with technology and the wider world. It may even come through anxiety, restlessness, sleeplessness, or the sense that the old structures are no longer reliable.

When this happens, the medicine is truth.

Although it may feel like a bit of an ego grinder, truth does not often show up as comfort. It may instead arrive as exposure or delay. It may even show up as a door closing or a body symptom that asks us to stop and listen. And it can arrive through conflict, disappointment, or an unexpected change in direction.

Regardless of how it shows up, truth is still mercy when it releases us from what needs to let us go in order to arrive at our next destination point.

The Exposure of False Foundations

One of the main themes of this time is the exposure of unstable foundations. An important point of clarification since we are talking about this as it relates to karma. According the ancients, if something happens or doesn’t happen, it’s based on karma. What isn’t supposed to be, won’t be. And what is supposed to be, will. It’s actually that simple.

However, karma also indicates how long, and in what way we have our time with someone or something. Not all things, in fact many things, aren’t meant to be permanent. Karma comes through because it balances everything out and ensures that we continue to carry on our journey giving, receiving and experiencing as we are supposed to. We want to make sure we don’t make ourselves, or others, wrong for something that does stay just because we wanted it to, as an example. If it’s meant to stay, so it will be.

As you continue to read, when you see statements like, “not meant to be” for example, think, “not meant to be any longer” it’s not a suggestion of “it wasn’t meant to be so you lost it”. Simply put, things come in when they are Divinely Timed and leave according to that same timing.

In any area of your life that feels disrupted, even if there is an inner rumbling that you have yet to full grasp, the invitation is to ask yourself:

What is worth building now?

What has prana? Where is the flow of prana?

What has integrity? Does something feel more aligned?

What can actually hold life, relationship, service, and responsibility over time?

Technology, Power, and the Question of Ethics

A major theme is the tension between innovation and responsibility.

Technology is moving faster than human wisdom in many areas. Artificial intelligence, financial speculation, social media, digital networks, and online communities all carry tremendous possibility, but they also carry a large shadow.

When the tools we have access to have the ability to become more powerful than our ethics, society has to pause and ask deeper questions.

Who benefits?

Who is harmed?

Who is accountable?

What happens when speed replaces wisdom?

What happens when profit becomes more important than human dignity?

Please understand, this is not a call to reject technology but a call to mature our relationship with it.

The spiritual question is whether what we are doing with technology  serves life and what ways?

Money, Desire, and the Reality Check

Financial themes also come forward strongly. Income, investments, debt, shared resources, and the way we create security may all be reviewed. This is especially important where there has been overextension, fantasy, speculation, or avoidance.

Money is deeply related to karma, as all things are. The way we earn, spend, owe, save, share, and invest all carries energy. Money can become a path of service, responsibility, and nourishment, or it can become a place where fear and illusion grow.

This is a powerful time to look honestly at financial life without shame. Are we living beyond what is sustainable? Are we chasing quick gains? Are we depending on unstable sources of support? Are we using money in ways that reflect our values? Are we making choices that our future self can bless?

The invitation is to become more truthful, responsible, and more aligned with what our lives require.

Relationships Under Review

Relationships may also come into a time of testing. This doesn’t mean every relationship in difficulty must end, actually it could be the opposite. The lights turning on could be the best medicine some relationships have seen and can be the grace and gift of a new beginning. With the lights on, relationships built on avoidance, convenience, fear, image, imbalance, or unspoken resentment may no longer be able to hide their cracks. You’ll have to see what you may not have wanted to see.

This applies to romantic relationships, friendships, family bonds, business partnerships, and spiritual communities.

Some relationships will deepen because they are willing to live in the light. Others may change shape and become another version while others may fall away. The point is not to force connection at any cost but to let relationships become more truthful.

When karma moves through a relationship, it often asks us to see the part we have played. Where have we overgiven? Where have we withheld the truth? Where have we confused intensity for intimacy? Where have we stayed because of guilt, fear, duty, or fantasy? Where have we expected others to carry what belongs to us?

These questions are meant to free us. Hence the gift of karma.

Health, Nervous System, and the Need to Return to the Body

Periods of disruption can create mental and emotional agitation. People may experience anxiety, restlessness, scatteredness, sleeplessness, or overstimulation more easily. The mind may try to solve everything at once while the body feels less settled as old fears may become louder.

In these cases, walk. breathe slowly, eat warm, nourishing food. Oil the body and spend less time consuming digital noise. Keep promises to your body and protect your sleep. Serve someone in a grounded, practical way. Let your body remember that it belongs to the earth, not to the speed of the world.

Spiritual practice during intense times should not become another way to escape life. It should help us meet life with more openness and steadfastness.

Work, Purpose, and the Question of Service

Career and life direction may also come into review. Work that was built only on image, ambition, or approval may begin to feel hollow. Work that is ethical, useful, and aligned with deeper purpose may ask for more commitment.

This is a time to ask not only, “What do I want to achieve?” but also, “How am I here to serve?”

Purpose is often revealed through being responsible for the natural gifts given to us and sometimes in the most simple ways. It is also revealed through the way we show up when things are difficult as the part of us that is activated naturally. Noticing the skills we cultivate, the people we help, and the integrity we bring to the visible and invisible parts of our work.

If your work is changing, it may mean your life is asking for an even more honest and aligned version of you by making other ways more uncomfortable. If you are in a life chapter where discomfort is necessary, notice the life that’s taking form through this inner tension you experience. Know that the inner rub is the formation of life that you may not know the shape of just yet, but be patient. You will.

The Rise of the Marginalized and the Challenge to Authority

Another collective theme is the rising voice of people and groups who have been ignored, dismissed, or pushed to the edges. When old power structures are questioned, those who were once excluded may begin to speak more forcefully.

This can create necessary corrections.

A society becomes unhealthy when power is never questioned. Communities become unhealthy when only certain voices are allowed to matter and others aren’t. A spiritual space becomes unhealthy when authority is protected more than truth.

The deeper teaching here is that justice is not separate from spirituality. How we treat the ones without easy access to power says everything about the soul of a culture.

Spiritual Awakening Through Disillusionment

When external structures feel uncertain, many people turn inward which can bring with it a profound opening. But true spiritual awakening is not the same as spiritual fantasy.

Awakening is not just seeing light but also seeing where we have been asleep.

It is seeing where we have given our power away and where we mistook charisma for wisdom. It is noticing where we used spiritual language to avoid practical responsibility. And even, seeing where we wanted a teacher, practice, or community to save us from our own inner work. Save us from ourselves.

Practical Ways to Meet This Time

The remedy for karmic intensity is aligned action.

Begin with what is closest to you. For example, tell the truth where you have been avoiding it. Simplify what has become chaotic and repair what can be repaired. Have hard conversations with yourself and others and release what needs to be left up to the Cosmos. Look to honesty in all areas and the place you want to cover up the truth out of comfort or convenience.

Volunteering, particularly feeding the hungry is a great way of sorting out karma.

Karma changes through action.

The Sacred Opportunity

Karma is a sacred intelligence that invites us deeper into our evolution and expansion. Allowing life to teach us and guide us without resistance, supported by love, honesty and discernment will see us through. This is a great time to commit to your spiritual practices, trust and surrender. Then put your seatbelt on because you are headed into GREAT THINGS! We just have to clean the closets a bit first.
