Join Govind Das and Jacqueline in the uplifting and heart opening practice of Kirtan. Kirtan is an ancient bhakti yoga practice using mantra and music as an expression of devotion and prayer. The literal translation of kirtan is “to praise.” Kirtan is described as a “jewel of a spiritual practice” because of its joyful, open-hearted, meditative, and communal feeling. Come sing, dance, and enjoy spiritual community.

This special event will be at Soul of Yoga Main Studio (627 Encinitas Blvd.)

Please bring your own cushion/pillow to sit on. There will be some chairs for those who want/need.

Tickets: $27 pre register; $35 at the door if space permits.

Govind Das and Jacqueline are California-based Bhakti yogis and Kirtan singers, and co-founders of The Bhakti Yoga Shala. They are a husband and wife team with great love and devotion for the Divine, the dharmic path, and the gift of life itself. This is the essence that is reflected and transmitted through their music and teachings.

Through the sacred practice of Kirtan and the practices and philosophy of the Bhakti Yoga culture, they will guide you on a yogic adventure deep into the essence of Bhakti – the yoga of the Heart, the yoga of Love.

Govind Das & Jacqueline live on the coast of Los Angeles with their 2 children Malakai and Ruby.

They lead Kirtan concerts, Bhakti yoga workshops, and transformative retreats throughout the world.

Soul of Yoga’s Merry Trentadue will be on percussion. She trained with Govind Das’s kirtan training at Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, and with local Bhakti musician and music therapist, Sita Rose, and is excited to share the ancient healing of mantra and singing with you. Her joy for Bhakti yoga started with her first visit to The Soul of Yoga, in 2012 with Soul Talk hosted by Tom and Trisha Kelly, the founders.
