While living in Los Angeles in 1994, due to health concerns (ulcerative colitis) he began to look for alternative ways of healing. After years of different practices (vinyasa yoga, ayurveda, buddhist meditation, etc), Ira Rosen found his yogic “home” in the path of Bhakti Yoga: the “yoga of the heart” or “the yoga of love and devotion”. It is in this tradition of “Bhakti/Devotion” where Ira was given his spiritual name- Govind Das, which means “servant of the Divine”… This path of service is at the root of his spiritual life- to serve the love and spirit that lives in the heart of all.

Amanda Baird

Amanda has played an intricate role in encouraging others to utilize the power of Sound as an accessible healing modality. Referred to as the “Midwife of Sound Healing” education, her programs have reached thousands in the past decade. She was inspired to build a sound healing training program while working as a Critical Care/ER/Trauma Registered Nurse. Jonathan Richard

Jonathan started his yoga journey in 2005, exploring meditation and basic asana. His passion for his practice, tapas, was rekindled when moving back to California in 2012 and has maintained a daily practice since. The universe lovingly led him to Lisette Hart’s Teacher Training through Roots and Wings, where his practice blossomed into a desire to teach. He strives to bring his passion for yoga into every class. Jonathan firmly believes that yoga is accessible to everyone, no matter what age or physical capability.

Whether through a strong vinyasa flow or a gentle restorative practice, Jonathan wants every one of his students to feel better leaving their practice than when they walked in; feeling free and open, both empowered and relaxed.

In addition, The Soul Institute 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training is enriched by qualified visiting presenters who share their expertise.

Outstanding training lead by Flossie and Monique! The caliber of supporting teachers and carefully crafted scheduling was admirable, simply exceptional. The delivery and translating of vast amounts of information, concepts and knowledge was flawless. Soul of Yoga Institute sets the bar high and is a unique leader in the community. Bravo!

Andrea Santana

I started teaching Yoga right after graduation for a private Yoga Studio in San Diego. In addition, I completed the trauma-informed Yoga training at the Soul of Yoga as well as completed the Reiki Master training at Soul of Yoga with Erika Lee.
Shortly after I began teaching for a non-profit organization that helps those affected by Domestic Violence and Sexual Abuse. I was so grateful to lead Yoga for their Survivor Retreats. I was nominated and appointed to the Board for the Victims of Violent Crime through The San Diego District Attorneys office. After attending several Board meetings and meeting so many great people within the organization, I was asked by the Assistant Deputy District Attorney to be the keynote speaker for the first ever Victims of Violent Crime Survivors Summit as well as to be a lead facilitator for the planning sessions during the Summit. I was asked to speak on Transforming Trauma through Yoga. I was also asked to lead a Yoga class for the entire Summit. There were over 500 attendees. I was so nervous and at the same time it felt so right—like everything that has happened was meant to get me to this place. Following the Survivors Summit, I was asked to lead another Yoga class at a Domestic Violence Training for the Community which also had over 400 attendees. This is just a little of what I have been up to.

Brooke H.
