Chronic disease, chronic pain, and auto-immune diseases affect tens of millions of people and are not always well addressed by allopathic medicine. Here we will elucidate the holistic understanding of these conditions, and detail the most useful yoga therapy tools, including restorative yoga.

February 24:  Stages of Diseases with Sita Severson

Understanding the stages of disease through Ayurveda offers an important foundation for working with chronic illness, imbalance, and long-term patterns in the body and mind. Students will explore how imbalance begins, how it develops over time, and how chronic conditions can take shape when subtle signs are missed or unsupported.

Special focus will be placed on learning how to recognize where a person may be in the progression of imbalance, so support can be offered with greater care and discernment.

February 24:  Anatomy of Aging with Monique Lonner

In this one day workshop Monique Lonner will discuss how some of the disease states that are considered akin to normal aging can be prevented and perhaps even reversed.

Through a holistic tour of the whole body system Monique Lonner will share an integrative approach to staying healthy and happy as we gain in years. From metabolic disease to heart disease to bone density, nerve health and hormonal balance, you’ll come to understand specific yoga practices can keep you younger deep in your cells and through your entire anatomical and physiological framework.

February 25-27: Fascia, Hormones and Women’s Health with Laurie Nemetz, MA, BC-DMT, LCAT, ERYT 500, C-IAYT

This three-day immersion is designed to provide a deeper, informed understanding of fascia and its role in hormonal regulation, women’s health, and chronic disease, drawing on the latest research in this evolving field. As part of the larger Chronic Disease and Ease yoga therapy training, this workshop explores fascia as an intelligent, responsive system that mediates movement, sensation, stress, and healing. Through experiential practice, therapeutic sequencing, active loading, breathwork, and restorative approaches, participants will study how fascial tissues are influenced by hormonal changes, inflammation, trauma, and long-term health conditions, as well as what we do in our yoga practice to create space and ease. Emphasis is placed on women’s health across life stages, including cyclical health, perimenopause and menopause, fatigue syndromes, pain patterns, and recovery.

February 28-March 1: Restorative Yoga with Flossie Park

Learn the science of the relaxation response theory and why it’s so useful for people with chronic conditions. Study the anatomy of the psoas and nervous system and the neurological, physical, psychological, and energetic principles of working with Restorative Yoga.
