Yoga Therapy Is the Next Step When Your Yoga Students Need More
As a yoga teacher, you’ve likely met students carrying far more than physical tension.
They arrive with pain, trauma, anxiety, grief, chronic illness, or life transitions that yoga could help with, but traditional teacher training wasn’t designed to prepare you for these layers.
It’s not that you’re doing anything wrong.
It’s that the work has become deeper than asana.

To truly support these students, you need:
- Clinical skills for working with pain and chronic conditions
- Therapeutic frameworks for emotional and mental well-being
- Assessment and planning tools that go beyond sequencing
You already know yoga can change lives.
Now it’s time to learn how to support people in a safe, skillful, and grounded therapeutic way.
Our graduates help clients recover from:
- Chronic pain and fatigue
- Anxiety, depression, and trauma
- Autoimmune and digestive disorders
- Cancer, heart disease, and life transitions

See Why Students Love Soul of Yoga
I’ve seen seniors lift their arms higher than they thought possible. Yoga therapy gives us tools that make a real difference.
This training aligns with looking at the body as a whole — beyond just Western medicine. Even offering simple breathing to a patient changed everything.
Wonderful faculty, supportive and multi-faceted. I really appreciated the rolling curriculum, so if “life” happens and you miss a module, there’s always an opportunity to make it up. The Holistic Anatomy and Physiology Course is online, as well as the majority of mentoring. Each new training was like an integral piece of the puzzle, and I was able to grow as a Yoga Therapist. This is a special program, with teachers like; Richard Miller, Nischala Joy Devi and Tom Myers to support your foundational training. After just over 2 years of hard work, I’m about to graduate in a few weeks. I can’t say enough positive things about this training. I feel well equipped to support my patients/clients, and I know I can always lean on my Soul family when I need them. Best of luck on your journey, whichever direction you take.
In my 200-hour, I was still finding my way. In Yoga Therapy, I feel it in my being — knowing this works and can reach anyone.
The Yoga Therapy program at the Soul of Yoga was a tremendous learning experience for me as a yoga teacher. There was a lot of soul to the program without comprising depth of knowledge on yoga anatomy and philosophy. I feel abundantly grateful for all the wonderful master teachers that I studied under. Committing to a program like this is always a big deal because one has to take an honest look at aspects of one’s life where healing is required. I was deeply touched by the incredible support I received in my journey into healing. The Soul of Yoga exemplifies what yoga is all about and they’re not afraid to show their love for humanity here. At the end of the program, I felt 100% ready to bring my yoga therapy skills to the world. This experience will stay with me throughout my life. If you’re a yoga teacher looking to get deeper into what yoga is all about, look no further!
The yoga therapy program at Soul of Yoga is unparalleled in its unique combination of hybrid accessibility, community belonging, and academic rigor. It combines a cultural appreciation of classical Yoga in tandem with the integration of modern yoga as therapy. One is empowered to think critically while also leaving the heart open to mysteries of the Divine. Mo and Shannon have created a non-dogmatic, inclusive space for people of all faiths and religious expressions to experience the spiritual depth of yoga without reducing its full brilliance. There are no words to describe just how much my life has transformed for the better through becoming a yoga therapist at SOUL.
I work in Epidemiology with Trauma as my specialty. My Yoga Therapy Training with Soul of Yoga was turning point in my career.
